Thank you for your interest in attending a VOLbreak! We offer a limited number of scholarships for participants needing assistance in affording their VOLbreak experience.
Important Notes
- Scholarships are need-based and may cover 50% – 100% of the program participation fee. To be considered, complete the application below.
- Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until all scholarships are awarded.
- The scholarship applies to only one VOLbreaks trip. For example, if you register for a Fall VOLbreaks trip and a Weekend Immersion VOLbreak, the scholarship will apply to one program fee, and you will still pay to attend the second program.
- Selected applicants will need to complete an impact report following their return from the trip. The impact report includes pictures of yourself on the VOLbreak, a 500-word statement sharing what you learned on the trip and how you plan to apply the knowledge in the future, and a thank-you note for our endowment founders.
Next Steps
- Scholarship recipients will receive a promo code to redeem in their registration portal.
- The student will be reimbursed if they have already registered and paid their program fee.
- Applicants must attend the VOLbreak trip for the awarded scholarship or will be required to reimburse the registration fee.

Scholarship applications for Fall 2025 are now closed. Applicants should check their emails for a message from leadserve@utk.edu regarding their scholarship application status. Scholarship applications for Spring VOLbreaks trips will open in January of 2026.
