Civic Engagement Coordinator
Biography
Michaela LaFountaine serves as the Leadership & Service Coordinator for Civic Engagement. In this role she works with the Leadership Knoxville Scholars program and strives to cultivate an understanding of civic engagement within students, and she works to coordinate civic engagement opportunities on campus in order to develop college graduates who understand their role in creating thriving communities.
Originally from Harrison, Idaho, Michaela moved to Knoxville in 2023 bringing passion for education and holistic development of students. She hopes to better equip students to affect positive change in the world around them. When not on campus she enjoys spending time outdoors, gardening, running, baking, and traveling.
