Ignite Leadership Summit is a three-day leadership retreat for incoming students that gives them an opportunity to connect with other students, learn UT traditions and discover who they are as leaders. An important feature of Ignite Leadership Summit is the opportunity for students to connect with staff members who serve as our Ignite Facilitators!
As a facilitator, you would co-advise a small group of incoming students along with two Ignite Team Leaders (current UT student leaders) over the course of the session. Ignite Leadership Summit is led by 20 Ignite Team Leaders, and will be offered to 200 eager & excited new Vols!
This year we will have two sessions of Ignite Leadership Summit for you to choose from (you are also welcome to participate in both, if your schedule permits). The first is August 2-4 at the Clyde York 4-H Center. The second session is August 15-17 at Carson Springs Conference Center. We provide transportation to and from the site, as well as lodging and all meals. As a facilitator, we do ask that you attend the entire program, so that you can establish a strong connection with the participating students.
Additional Time Commitments
In preparation for your roles, we ask that you attend the following:
- Ignite Team Leader class: Tuesday, April 12th from 3:45-4:55pm to meet your Team Leaders
- Ignite Facilitator training: Wednesday, July 20th from 10am-1pm (lunch provided)
We hope that you have an interest in participating and your schedule can accommodate these time commitments, as we truly cannot offer this program without the support of faculty & staff members like you!
If you have any questions about the role of the facilitator or the Ignite program, please do not hesitate to email Cierra Burnett at email@example.com. For our planning purposes, please complete this interest form, by April 1st. If you know of any other UT faculty or staff who might be a great fit for this role, feel free to forward this form along to them.
